I have actually read up on the subject. I posted that girl because I think she is beautiful. I also love her well put-together outfit and the aesthetic appeal of the photograph. In addition to those things, the background (the side paneling that is faded and dirty) brings me back to a very specific time in my childhood. That is why I reblogged it. I do not wear dreads (although at one time I did consider it, before reading articles on it) myself, so I do not know what to tell you.
I’m sorry that you were offended (or could see how others would be offended) by the picture. I tend to sometimes post pictures that could be controversial to some. I have various reasons for each thing I post. This blog was meant for me, personally, to be able to post (mainly) things I find appealing in some way, not as a social or political statement of any kind. If you see something pictured (for example, there is a photo of someone slumped over a desk with smoke rising above them, insinuating that they had committed suicide) in my blog, it does not necessarily mean I agree with or support it. I am not telling anyone to wear or not wear dreads. I simply posted a photo that, when I look at it, makes my pupils dilate and my mind happy. My intention was never to offend, but I realize that it is a possibility - this is why I never try to gain followers and only post what I feel is pleasing to me in some way.
